Field Description - Service Connection Usage Multiplier

This topic last opened by author on January 16, 2014 at 10:24 AM.

The Service Connection Usage Multiplier is a common denominator used to convert the service connection usage into a standardized unit of measure, if applicable.  Use the Service Connection Usage Multiplier if the usage is in a different unit of measure than the standard.  The Service Connection Usage Multiplier is used during Bill Entry, in cases where the service connection usage is multiplied by the Service Connection Usage Multiplier to determine the actual usage.

Example:  Most of your service connections have a one inch pipe, where one unit of usage is 1/2 cubic foot.  Some of your service connections may have a 1/2 inch pipe, where one unit of usage is 1/4 cubic foot.  In order to obtain standardized usage for each customer, in some cases Edifice multiplies the Service Connection Usage by the Service Connection Usage Multiplier to obtain the actual usage.

Note:  Do not confuse the Service Connection Usage Multiplier with the Service Connection Reading Multiplier.  While they are used in similar ways, they are separate fields and have separate functions.
