Device Attachment Maintenance

Use Device Attachment Maintenance to maintain the descriptions that identify the parts of or types of water service to which a backflow device is attached.  For example, a backflow device can be attached to an irrigation system, fire sprinkler system, or main house.

Directions:

• Opening Device Attachment Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Daily Work from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Code Maintenance.

  4.  Click Miscellaneous Maintenance.

  5.  Click Device Attachment Maintenance.

• Creating a New Device Attachment, click More.

   

  Device Attachment Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Device Attachment ID	To create a new Device Attachment enter the new Device Attachment ID (up to 10 characters) and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t] Tips: Or, enter the new Device Attachment ID and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n] To indicate that you are building a new Device Attachment, New  displays near the Device Attachment ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.
  	To view all of the existing device attachments, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing device attachment, enter the Device Attachment ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Title	Enter the title associated with the Device Attachment. (up to 20 characters)
  Description	Enter the full description associated with the Device Attachment. (up to 40 characters)
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

   

• Editing an Existing Device Attachment, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Device Attachment ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Device Attachment ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Device Attachments.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an Existing Device Attachment, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Device Attachment ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Device Attachment ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Device Attachments.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
