Field Description - Employee State

The Employee State contains the two-character U.S. Postal Service abbreviation for the state.

Tips:

• Do not confuse the abbreviation for the state with the State Code, which is used for certain processes that vary among states, such as tax calculations.

• During Employee Master Maintenance in the Employee Information Area, you can see a list of abbreviations by entering only the first character of the state name.

• For a complete listing of state abbreviations, refer to the United States Postal Service website, http://www.usps.com/ncsc/lookups/abbreviations.html.
