Printing Screens

There are several software applications available to capture and print a screen image.  Using Microsoft® Windows®, you must first capture the screen, then paste it into an application with a print feature.

  1. Display the screen (or window) you want to print.

  2. Press the [Print Scrn/SysRq] key on your keyboard, which copies an image of the screen to the Windows clipboard.
    Tip
    :  The [Print Scrn/SysRq] key is located next to the [Scroll Lock] key in the top row of most keyboards.

  3. Copy the contents of the clipboard into a word processor program using the Paste function.  You can use programs such as Microsoft® Word® or WordPad.
    Tip
    :  To start WordPad on most Windows-based computers:

  1. Click the [Start] button on the Taskbar.

  2. Click Accessories.

  3. Click WordPad.

  4. Print the document.

    Tip
    :  In Word or WordPad, click Print from the File menu.
