The Appointment Type ID is the key field that uniquely identifies the information about the type of appointment. The Appointment Type ID is user-defined and is alpha-numeric. You can use the Appointment Type ID during Scheduling to format the schedule and when entering an appointment to quickly fill in standard information such as the appointment duration and additional resources needed.
Tips:
You can group multiple Appointment Types together into an Appointment Category.
You can group a mixture of Appointment Types and Appointment Categories into an Appointment Set.
You will be prompted for an override if the Appointment Type ID that you enter for an appointment does not match the time slot's Appointment Type, or if the Appointment Type is not contained within the time slot's Appointment Category or Appointment Set.
