Location CLIA Number Maintenance
Use Location CLIA Number Maintenance to maintain the facility's CLIA number if your facility performs laboratory tests. The CLIA number only needs to be maintained if your organization performs laboratory tests for patients. CLIA refers to Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations. Congress passed the CLIA in 1988, establishing quality standards for all laboratory testing to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of patient test results, regardless of where the test was performed.
Tips:
If your organization have multiple locations or departments where some departments process lab tests and others do not, you can create a location set record for the departments that do and maintain the CLIA number there.
