Transaction Analysis Report Instructions

Use the Transaction Analysis Report to view the breakdown of all payments and reimbursement information associated with patient charges.  For example, if you maintain Transaction Codes for Master Card payments, Visa payments and American Express payments you can easily see the payment patterns.  Payment patterns that may have developed can be easily tracked and allows you to pay close attention to adjustment figures and professional courtesies.  Analyzing the profitability of participating with an HMO or calculating the collection rate at the time of service are just two of many analyses that can be drawn from data contained in this report.

• Opening the Transaction Analysis Report Instructions, click More.

   

  1.  Click Reports from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click Analysis Reports.

  3.  Click Transaction Analysis.

• Choosing the Selections at the Prompt Window, click More.

   

  Transaction Analysis Report Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Transactions	Enter the Transactions to report. (up to 6 characters) Tips: To enter an individual transaction, simply enter the Transaction code and press [TAB]. To enter a group of transactions, enter the first transaction code, followed by a comma (,) and the next transaction code.  Continue in this fashion until the list of transaction codes is complete. To enter a range, enter the beginning transaction code followed by a dash (-) and the ending transaction. Or, to search for the appropriate transaction code, click Search . Keyboard shortcut:  [CTRL + f].
  Statistics	To include both month-to-date and year-to-date information on the report, click Both MTD & YTD. To include only month-to-date information, click Month-to-date. To include only year-to-date information, click Year-to-date.
  Alternate Sort Sub Total	Note:  This field is reserved for future use.
  Page On Transaction	To print each transaction on a separate page, click Yes in the drop-down list. To print all transaction on the same page, click No in the drop-down list.
  Include Zero Totals	To include transactions with zero totals, click Yes in the drop-down list. To omit reporting transactions with zero totals, click No in the drop-down list.
  Number of Copies	Enter the Number of Copies for the printed report. (1-99)
  Sort By:	To specify the sort criteria for the report, click a choice. Sort By: Transaction Code Transaction Type Transaction Description Alternate Sort Sequence Dollars MTD Dollars YTD
  Types	To specify the types of transactions to report, click a choice. Types Options: All Select
  	To specify the type of transaction to report, click to select the appropriate box. Note:  This prompt is only active, if you clicked Select for Types.
  	Displays the default printer number.  For more information, see Printing Options.
  	To begin printing to the Windows® default printer, click Print or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + p]
  	To escape from the print routine, click Cancel. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + c]
