Settings

Use Settings to maintain options that control certain functions in the Inventory application.

Note:  You cannot create Settings.  The necessary information is created during the software installation and updates.  To change the settings, see the instructions for editing in this topic.

• Opening Settings, click More.

   

  1.  Click  File Menu from the Menu.

  2.  Click Settings.

  Settings Prompts
  Company Name	Enter the company name.  (up to 80 characters) Tip:  When available the company name will print on reports.
  Post Serial Items	The Post Serial Items setting is used during the Transaction Post routine and determines if serial transaction processing is allowed or should be skipped. Setting Options: Yes - Serial item transaction processing is active. Tip:  Defaults to Yes. No - Serial Posting is not active. Tip:  A message displays when serial items are in the transaction file and serial transaction processing is not active. Ask When Posting - If serial items are encountered during the Transaction Post, a message displays asking if serial items should be posted.  The user must respond to continue. Note:  The transaction post log will note serial items transactions which were not processed. This may result in orphaned serial transactions. These are deleted at the end of each post as to not interfere with any future post. The main transaction associated with the serial transaction will post in all cases.
  Cost Based On	The Cost Based On setting determines the item costs to use when calculations requires a single cost variable for an item. Cost Based on Options: 0 - Average 1 - Standard 2 - Last Note:  The default is 1 - Standard.
  Default List Price Type	The default list price type specifies the default list price type value assigned to a new Inventory item master, but can be changed if needed.  The List Price Type works with the Markup % to generate the sell price for the item.  Select a choice from the drop-down list. Default List Price Type options: Fixed Price - Use the item list price as the item sell price Average Cost Markup % - Mark up the average cost by the markup percentage to arrive at the item sell price Last Cost Markup % - Mark up the last cost by the markup percentage to arrive at the item sell price Standard Cost Markup %- Mark up the standard cost by the markup percentage to arrive at the item sell price
  Default Markup %	If the default list price type is average cost markup %, last cost markup % or standard cost markup %, enter the default markup percentage to assign to a new inventory item.  This can be changed if needed.   If the default list price type is set to Fixed Price, then this field is not available.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. To close the screen without saving, click Cancel .
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

   

• Deleting Settings, click More.

   

  Important:  To maintain system integrity, the Settings cannot be deleted.
