User Maintenance

Use User Maintenance to maintain the clerk initials and the default printer information for each user who enters any type of vehicle registrations.

Tips:  

• Generally, the user information including the clerk initials are set during installation and will not change unless you have personnel changes.

• For more information about working with data in fields, see the Data Entry Guidelines.

• Opening User Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click [ALT + s] to launch the Invision Support menu.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click User Maintenance.
  
  Tip:  Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s] [f] [u].

• Creating a New User, click More.

   

  To create a new record choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the new User Number and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the new User Number and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new User, New  displays near the User Number.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

   

  User Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  User Number	Enter the defined number assigned to the User ID. (5.0 numeric)
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Users, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing User, enter the User ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Login	Note:  This field is reserved for future use.  Please leave blank.
  Clerk Initials	Enter the 3 characters that uniquely identifies the clerk assigned to the User ID. (up to 3 characters)
  Registration Forms Index	Enter the Registration Forms Index printer number assigned to print MVR-3 forms. (2.0 numeric) Note:  You can find the printer index number on the CHUI printer table.
  Registration Forms Printer	Note:  This field is reserved for future use.  Please leave blank.
  Cash Receipt Printer	Enter the receipt printer index number assigned to print cash receipts. (2.0 numeric) Note:  You can find the printer number on the CHUI printer table.

   

• Editing an Existing User, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the User Number and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the User Number, you can click Search  to see a list of Users.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]

   

• Deleting an Existing User, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the User Number and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the User Number, you can click Search  to see a list of Users.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
