Electronic Registration Export Control Maintenance

Use Electronic Registration Export Control Maintenance to maintain the physical attributes of the export work file containing electronic vehicle registration information.  This information is used during the electronic registration export routines.  The control information includes the file type, the file name, and the definition file name.

Notes:  

• NDS Technical Support will assist you with setting up this information.  Once this information is set, it generally does not change under normal operating conditions.

• Opening Electronic Registration Export Control Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Tools from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click Export.

  3.  Click Electronic Registration.

  4.  Click Export Control Maintenance.

• Creating a New Electronic Registration Export Control record, click More.

   

  To create a new record choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the new Export Control ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the new Export Control ID and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Export Electronic Registration Control record, New  displays near the Export Control ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

   

  Electronic Registration Export Control Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.

  Export Control ID	Enter the unique identifier that is used to store and recall the export control information. (up to 6 characters)
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Export Control Records, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing Export Control record, enter the Export Control ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  File Type	To select a file type, click a choice in the drop-down list. File Types: No Delimiter Quote Comma Comma Only Pipe Tab
  File Name	Enter the file name and location address for the export work file. (up to 80 characters)
  Category	Enter the category ID for the export file. (up to 30 characters)
  Definition File	Enter the definition file name for the export work file. (up to 30 characters)

  Export Type	To specify the export type, click a choice in the drop-down list.
  Include Unknown Plate Numbers	To include unknown plate numbers in the work file, click to select the box. To omit unknown plate number from the work file, leave the box blank.
  Include Stickers Only	To include stickers only in the work file, click to select the box. To omit stickers only from the work file, leave the box blank.
  Include Special Permits (SP) Class	To include special permits class in the work file, click to select the box. To omit special permits class from the work file, leave the box blank.
  Include Transit Plates (TP) Class	To include transit plate class information in the work file, click to select the box. To omit transit plate class information from the work file, leave the box blank.

   

• Editing an Existing Electronic Registration Export Control record, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Export Control ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].

  Tip:  If you do not know the Export Control ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Electronic Registration Export Control records.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an Existing Electronic Registration Export Control record, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Export Control ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Export Control ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Electronic Registration s.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
