G/L State ID Table Maintenance (GLSTID)
Use G/L State ID Table Maintenance to maintain the State Employer Identification Number (referred to as the State ID) for every state requiring W-2 forms for employees.

Opening G/L State ID Table Maintenance, click More.
Click Payroll from the Menu Bar.
Click Miscellaneous File Maintenance.
Click Table FM.
Click Alpha Tables.
Click
G/L State ID (G/L nn).
Tip: Or,
use the keyboard shortcut:
[ALT]
[p] [m] [a] [s].
G/L State ID Table Maintenance Window Example:
Creating a new G/L State ID Table, click More.
Note: If a table does not already exist for a state, the program automatically creates the table when you click the State Code in the drop-down list. To maintain the G/L State ID Tables, see the instructions for editing later in this topic.
Editing an existing G/L State ID Table, click More.
CAUTION: To avoid losing data, you must save any changed records.
To
display the record to be changed, click the State Code
in the drop-down list.
Tip: If
the table for the specified state does not exist, the program automatically
creates the table.
To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.
Enter the data changes.
To
complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

The program sets the Table ID to G/L nn, where nn indicates the State Code. Tip: This program maintains a separate table for each State Code. Each table contains a single record. | |

Enter the Table Title, which is an abbreviated name for the table. (up to 14 characters) | |
Enter the Table Description, which is the full name of the table. (up to 79 characters) | |
Click the State Code that you want to maintain in the drop-down list. (predefined) | |
Enter the two-character U.S. Postal Service abbreviation for the state. (2 characters) | |
Enter your facility's State Employer Identification Number (also called the State Tax ID). (free text) Tips:

Deleting an existing G/L State ID Table, click More.
Note: To maintain data integrity, you can not delete any G/L State ID tables.
