Table - TXCHARGE

The TXCHARGE (Tax Charge) Table defines the General Ledger Account Numbers associated with specific Tax Type Codes that are used during Tax Charge Entry.

TXCHARGE Table Field Descriptions

Column

Description

Code

Contains the Tax Type Code.

  • Row 1 - 01 (Tax Charge)

  • Row 2 - 07 (Lien Charge)

  • Row 3 - 10 (30-Day Charge)

  • Row 4 - 13 (Lien Cost Charge)

Description

Enter a two- character abbreviation followed by a space followed by a short description associated with the Tax Type Code.

Note:  In newer versions of Tax Billing, the description is simply for ease of maintenance within the table.

GL-Credit

Enter the committed General Ledger Account Number for credits.

Notes:

  • The GL-Credit number in Row 1 for the 01 Tax Charge usually matches the Taxes Committed General Ledger Account Number specified in the TB-GL table.

  • You can see the GL-Credit number on the Tax Charge Journal Report.

  • The General Ledger Account Number format is GLYY, where...

  • GL represents the General Ledger Account Number prefix.  Your municipality determines the numbering scheme according to the General Ledger Chart of Accounts.

  • YY represents the last two digits of the tax year for the General Ledger Account Number suffix.

GL-Debit

Enter the receivables General Ledger Account Number for debits.
