Lien Letters and Notices
Lien Letters and Notices include the 30-Day Notices, which warn of impending liens, and the Lien Notices, which legally notify the owner of a lien. Although there is no specific report in Tax Billing for printing these letters, you can export the data from the lien files (PPLIEN and RELIEN) to generate the letters using third-party database and word processor applications such as Microsoft Excel™ and Microsoft Word™.
Notes:
For guidelines about when to generate the lien files, refer to the Tax Billing and Lien Notice Runbook. Usually, you print the Lien Notices after creating the lien files and before running Convert Taxes to Lien, which creates the lien transactions.
For instructions about creating the PPLIEN and RELIEN files, see Prepare Lien File Instructions.
For instructions about maintaining the data in the PPLIEN and RELIEN files, see Personal Property Lien Maintenance and Real Estate Lien Maintenance.
For instructions about exporting the data to a database application using Open Data Base Connectivity (ODBC) and CVIEW and about using mail merge in a word processor to generate the letters from the exported data, contact NDS Technical Support.
