Patient Search

Use the Patient Search to find a patient if you do not know their patient account number or their patient name.  You can search for a patient by their full name, last name, their date of birth, their social security number or a portion of their mailing address such as, city, state or zip code.  Patient Search searches the patient file and displays the patients matching your search criteria.  Often, you will use the patient search to begin a new encounter.

To open the Patient Search, click from the Desktop.

Search Criteria
Patient Name/Acct #/City/State/Home Phone/Date of Birth/Soc Sec No/Patient of

To begin a patient search, enter the search criteria and press [ENTER].

Note:  The Magnifying Glass displays in each field that you can search.

Entry options:

  • Enter the patient's last name or portion of their last name.

  • Enter the patient's account number.

  • Enter the patient's city to view all patients from a particular city.
    For example, to see all patients from Falmouth, enter Falmouth.

  • Enter the patient's state to view all patients from a state.
    For example, to see all patients from Maine, enter Maine

  • Enter the patient's home phone number.

  • Enter the patient's Date of Birth. (mmddyyyy)

  • Enter the patient's Social Security Number. (xxxxxxxxx)

  • Enter the provider ID for the patient.
    Tip:
     You will see all patients who are a patient of the provider entered.

Search List Window

The Search List Window displays the patients that meet the search criteria.

The fields listed below, display for each patient:

  • Patient Name (first name combined with last name)

  • Patient Account Number

  • City

  • State

  • Date of Birth

  • Social Security No.

  • Provider for patient

  • Encounter status

Note:  To sort the search list by a different search criteria other than the patient last name, click the desired criteria.

Selecting a Patient

There are two ways to select a patient and choose the window to display their information:

  • To quickly select the appropriate patient from the Search List and display their information in the Patient Account Master window, click Patient .

  • Or, if you wish to load patient information into another window:

  • Click the desired patient name from the Search List to highlight it.

  • Click the desired Button from the toolbar.
