The Diagnosis Code is the key field that identifies the Diagnosis. To assign Diagnosis Codes, you can use the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) Code or some other user-defined code.

Although codes other than ICD can be used, we recommend using ICD codes to be consistent with modern healthcare practices.
During Charge Entry Preferences Maintenance, you can specify if an Auto Drop Down list appears automatically for the four diagnoses fields when entering charges at the Charge Entry - Transaction Detail Area.
