Referral Force Maintenance

Use Referral Force Maintenance to view and maintain the parameters that control entries in the Referral field during Patient Entry and during Charge Entry.  During this maintenance, you can set the parameters to require an entry in the Referral field and or you can set the option to require entry of a valid Referral Source Code in the Referral field.  Referral Source Codes are maintained during Referral Maintenance.

Notes:  

• There is only one Referral Force Parameter to maintain.  For more information contact NDS Technical Support.

• Opening Referral Force Parameter, click More.

   

  • Click File Maintenance from the Menu Bar, click Standard Maintenance and then click Referral Force.

  • Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [m] [t] [ARROW DOWN].

   

• Editing the Referral Force Parameter, click More.

   

  Referral Force Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for that field name.
  Referral Force	Enter RSFORC as the Referral Force. Required
  	To display the Referral Force, enter RSFORC and click Retrieve or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Verify PE Code	To require a valid Referral Source Code to be entered in the Referral field during Patient Entry, click Yes in the drop-down list. To allow any entry including an invalid Referral Source Code in the Referral field during Patient Entry, click No in the drop-down list.
  Allow Empty PE Code	To allow the Referral field to be blank during Patient Entry, click Yes in the drop-down list. To require an entry in the Referral field during Patient Entry, click No in the drop-down list.
  Verify CE Code	To require a valid Referral Source Code to be entered in the Referral field during Charge Entry, click Yes in the drop-down list. To allow any entry including an invalid Referral Source Code in the Referral field during Charge Entry, click No in the drop-down list.
  Allow Empty CE Code	To allow the Referral field to be blank during Charge Entry, click Yes in the drop-down list. To require an entry in the Referral field during Charge Entry, click No in the drop-down list.
  	To update the new or changed information click Save or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION:  If you forget to click Save, you may lose your changes.

   

• Deleting the Referral Force Parameter, click More.
