Scheduling Appointment Type Additional Resources Maintenance

Use Scheduling Appointment Type Additional Resources Maintenance to link selected Resource Description IDs to specific types of appointments and to maintain information about the resources assigned to the appointment.  During this maintenance you will link a resource description, for example nurses to an appointment type that requires a nurse's assistance.  While you may have several nurses available to assist, you do not assign the specific nurse during this maintenance.

Note:  To link an appointment type with a resource description:

• The Appointment Type's Additional Resources Needed? field must be set to Yes.

• A valid Resource Description must first be maintained during Scheduling Resource Description Maintenance.

• Opening Scheduling Appointment Type Additional Resources Maintenance, click More.

   

  • Click File Maintenance from the Menu Bar, and next click Scheduling Maintenance; then click Appt Type Addt'l Resources.

  • Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [m] [c] [a].

   

• Creating a new Appointment Type Additional Resource, click More.

   

  To create a new record choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the defined Appointment Type ID, enter the defined Resource Description ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the defined Appointment Type ID, enter the defined Resource Description ID and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Appointment Resource, New  displays near the Appointment Type ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

  Appointment Type Additional Resources Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Appointment Type ID	Enter a valid defined Appointment Type ID maintained during Appointment Type Maintenance. (up to 6 characters) Note:  To search for an Appointment Type ID, click Search button.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing appointment types, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing Appointment Type, enter the Appointment Type ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Type/Proc Flag	Displays for your reference the Type/Proc Flag maintained during Appointment Type Maintenance. Note:  The Type/Proc Flag is display-only during this window.
  Description	Displays for your reference the full description associated with the Appointment Type. Note:  The Description is display-only during this window.
  Alternate Search	Displays for your reference the Alternate Search name for the Appointment Type. Note:  The Alternate Search is display-only during this window.
  Resource Description ID	Enter a valid defined Resource Description ID identifying the resource to be assigned to the Appointment Type. (up to 6 characters) Notes:   If resource descriptions have been previously attached to the Appointment Type the Resource Description IDs display in the field's drop-down list. To search for a Resource Description, click Search or press [CTRL + f]. To create a new Resource Description, click Fast Maintenance or press [CTRL + o].
  Resource Description	Displays for your reference the description associated with the resource.   Note:  The Resource Description is display-only during this window.
  Appointment Duration	To accept the default value displayed for the Appointment Duration, press [TAB] or enter another Appointment Duration. (2.0 numeric, maintained in 5 minute increments)
  Pre-Appointment Duration	To accept the default value displayed for the Pre-Appointment Duration, press [TAB] or enter the pre-appointment duration, if applicable. (2.0 numeric, maintained in 5 minute increments)
  Post-Appointment Duration	To accept the default value displayed for the Post-Appointment Duration, press [TAB] or enter the Post-appointment Duration, if applicable. (2.0 numeric, maintained in 5 minute increments)
  Total Duration	Displays the resources Total Duration for the appointment. (2.0 numeric, maintained in 5 minute increments) Note:  The Total Duration can not be edited.

   

• Editing an existing Appointment Type Additional Resource, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Appointment Type ID and the Resource Description ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Appointment Type ID or the Resource Description ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Appointment Types or Additional Resources.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.

• Deleting an existing Appointment Type Resource, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Appointment Type ID and the Resource Description ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Appointment Type ID or the Resource Description ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Appointment Types or Additional Resources.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
