Scheduling Resource Description Maintenance

Use Scheduling Resource Description Maintenance to maintain descriptions and notes for each general type of resource you use with an appointment or procedure.  A resource could be a person such as a nurse or x-ray technician or a resource can be a piece of equipment that is needed to perform the appointment or procedure.  Maintaining resource descriptions is the first step in adding resources to specific types of appointments.

• Opening Scheduling Resource Description Maintenance, click More.

   

  • Click File Maintenance from the Menu Bar, and next click Scheduling Maintenance; then click Resource Description.

  • Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [m] [c] [d].

• Creating a new Scheduling Resource Description, click More.

   

  To create a new record choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the new Resource Description ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the new Resource Description ID and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Resource Description, New  displays near the Resource Description ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

  Scheduling Resource Description Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Resource Description ID	Enter the unique identification assigned to the resource description.  (up to 6 characters) Required
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Resource Descriptions, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing Resource Description, enter the Resource Description ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Description	Enter a general description of the resource. (up to 40 characters)
  Alt. Search	Enter an alternate name to be used to search for the resource description. (up to 8 characters)
  Notes 1	Enter optional notes pertaining to the resource description, if applicable. (up to 40 characters)
  Notes 2	Enter a second line of optional notes pertaining to the resource description, if applicable. (up to 40 characters)

   

• Editing an existing Scheduling Resource Description, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Resource Description ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Resource Description ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Resource Descriptions.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.

• Deleting an existing Scheduling Resource Description, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Resource Description ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Resource Description ID, you can click Search  to see a list Resource Descriptions.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
