Add Console Item Wizard - Overview
Use the Add Console Item Wizard to add your favorite files to the Console Items Panel. You can add console items such as word processing documents, spreadsheets, data bases, executable programs (.exe), and Crystal Reports.

Tips:
When
you add a console item from within EMS, it appears only on the Executive
Console, not on the application's
User Console.
However, when you add a console item from within an application, it
appears on the Executive Console and
on the open application module's User Console.
An added console item is copied to your server location, and the original file remains unchanged. For example, if you add a Word document and subsequently open it from a console to make changes, the original document remains unmodified.
To add NDS application reports, processes, and auto notify items to the Executive Console and the User Consoles, use the Job Console within the appropriate application.

Opening the Add Console Item Wizard, click More.
Basic Method:
1. Click Console from the Menu Bar.
2. Click Wizards.
3. Click
Add Console Item.
Advanced Methods:
Click Add Console Item on the Toolbar.
Or, use the keyboard shortcut: [ALT] [c] [z] [a].

Tip: To see general instructions for each panel in the example below, the cursor becomes a hand when you position the cursor over the field or panel. Click once to display the associated topic.
Adding a new Console Item, click More.
IMPORTANT: To avoid losing data, the wizard automatically validates and saves your data when you click Finish.
1. Open the Console Item Wizard.
2. At the Enter Console Item Name and Type Step, enter the new Console Item Name in the Data Entry Panel.
3. Select a Console Item Type from the drop-down list.
4. To
advance to the next step, simply press [ENTER].

5. To position the pointer to the information that you want to enter, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.
6. Enter the data changes.
7. To
finish entry and save the changes, click Finish

Editing an existing Console Item, click More.
Note: This wizard only adds console items. To edit console items, use the Edit Console Item Wizard.
Removing an existing Console Item, click More.
Note: This wizard only adds console items. To remove console items, use the Remove Console Item Wizard.
