Field Description - FICA Earnings Totals - Medicare

The fields for FICA Earnings Totals - Medicare contain various totals accumulated during the current year for gross Medicare-only FICA earnings.

Notes:

• The system updates these fields, so you do not normally need to edit them.

• The settings for Deduction Exemptions and Other Pay Exemptions control how the system updates these fields.

• You can view the QTD and YTD totals during Employee Totals Master Maintenance in the Earnings Totals Area.

• You can view MTD totals and totals for each of the four quarters in the current year during Employee Quarterly Totals Maintenance in the Employee Quarterly Totals Area.

• You can view MTD totals for any month within the current year during Employee Monthly Totals Maintenance in the Earnings Totals Area.

• These fields apply only to earnings for employees whose FICA Code is 2 - Medicare Only.

• The Period End Clear process clears these fields when you specify a calendar clear.

• Month-To-Date (MTD):  6.2 numeric

• Quarter-To-Date (QTD):  6.2 numeric

• Year-To-Date (YTD):  7.2 numeric
