Field Description - Other Pay Amount Factor

The Other Pay Amount Factor is either a dollar amount or a multiplier for a specific type of other pay.  Payroll uses the Other Pay Amount Factor to calculate the Other Pay Amount Paid for the employee by applying the rules defined by the Other Pay Method Code.

Notes:

• Because the Other Pay Amount Paid and Other Pay Amount Factor fields often appear as the same name (Other Pay Amount), it is easy to confuse them, especially since the values can be the same.  If the Other Pay Method Code is 1 - Flat Amount, then the value for Other Pay Amount Paid defaults to the value in Other Pay Amount Factor.

• For your convenience, the value for Other Pay Amount Factor can default to the Other Pay Standard Amount, which you can assign to an Other Pay Code during Other Pay Master Maintenance.  You can override the Other Pay Standard Amount when you assign an Other Pay Code to an employee during Employee Master Maintenance in the Employee Other Pay Area.
