Direct Deposit Export Destination Maintenance

Use Direct Deposit Export Destination Maintenance to define the name and location of the export file for the direct deposit transactions to be transmitted to the bank.  The destination file name controls where the direct deposit file will go on the user's workstation and the name of the file.  Some banks will specify what the file name needs to be named, or will want it placed in a particular folder.  In this case make sure the export destination is set accordingly.  Normally, you only have to set up this information once.

Notes:

• The Export Direct Deposit File process uses this destination definition during the Payroll Run when creating the export file.

  1.  Click Payroll from the Menu.

  2.  Click Miscellaneous File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Direct Deposit Export FM.

• Creating a Direct Deposit Export Destination, click More.

   

  Direct Deposit Export Destination Maintenance Prompts
  Destination ID	Enter the Destination ID, which is any string of characters you want, to identify the destination definition and then click Retrieve .  (up to 20 characters) Or, to look for an Export Destination, click Search .  From the Search list you can select a destination to change or delete. Notes: If you are building a new Export Destination, New displays near the Destination ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information. Most facilities require only one record, although you can set up as many destination definitions as you want. You can use this ID to load the destination information when running Export Direct Deposit File during the Payroll Run.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed Export Destinations.
  File Type	Always set the File Type to No Delimiter unless otherwise directed by NDS.
  File Name	Enter the path and the export file name.  (up to 80 characters) Or, to search for a file name and path on your system, click Browse . Example:  c:\payrollexport\prdirdep.txt Notes: You can store the export file on your local drive (c:\), on another drive or on a server. Tip:  Click Browse to search for the desired location. All folders specified in the path (payrollexport in the example) must exist at the time you run the Export Direct Deposit File process.  However, the system will create the export file (prdirdep.txt in the example) if it does not already exist.
  Definition File Name	Leave the default value for the Definition File Name, which defines the layout of the export file specified above.  (up to 30 characters) Important:  Always leave the default value (dirdep_txt.exp) unless directed otherwise by NDS Support.

   

• Editing a Direct Deposit Export Destination, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed Export Destinations.

  1.  Click in the field to change.

  2.  Enter the data changes.

  3.  Click Save .

• Deleting a Direct Deposit Export Destination, click More.

   

  1.  Click File from the Menu, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  2.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
