Communications File Maintenance Menu

The Communications File Maintenance menu contains commands for maintaining the codes and information used during the electronic billing process and other communications processes.

Directions:

To open the Communications File Maintenance menu, click the following sequence:
Billing Functions from the Menu Bar; Communications; and File Maintenance.
Or, click the following sequence:
Billing Functions from the Menu Bar; Menu Panel; and File Maintenance from the Menu Bar.
The table below describes the available options.

Communications File Maintenance Menu Items
Carrier Codes	View and maintain information about the physical attributes of the electronic billing workfile for the various carriers.
Carrier Types	View and maintain the form types and programs to use during electronic communications processes, such as, electronic billing.
System Parameters	View and maintain certain parameters for electronic billing communications.
EMC Professional Table Maintenance	View and maintain tables for controlling electronic claims processing and information to be included in the electronic claims transmission files. Note: Both the EMC Professional Table Maintenance and the Classic EMC Table Maintenance routines are available for maintaining EMC Tables.
Classic EMC Table Maintenance	View and maintain tables for controlling electronic claims processing and information to be included in the electronic claims transmission files. Note: Both the EMC Professional Table Maintenance and the Classic EMC Table Maintenance routines are available for maintaining EMC Tables.
Alternate EMC Table ID	View and maintain the EMC IDs that prevent claims for a specific provider from being submitted and processed electronically.
