Field Description - Patient First Name & Init

The Patient First Name and Initial is the first name and middle initial for the patient.  The Patient First Name and Initial combined with their Last Name makes up the patient's full name.

Tips:

• You can search by the patient's First Name, if the parameter for First Name is specified during installation.

• Although INSight frequently prompts for the Patient First Name & Init within a single field, you can enter the First Name and Middle Name separately during Patient Address Maintenance.

Notes:

• Entry notes:

• Enter the first name, a space, then the middle initial.

• Do not add a comma between the first name and middle initial.

• The patient's full name is required for billing purposes.

• Patient Entry - Name & Address Area in the Demographics Window

• Patient Wizard - Demographics Area

Format:  up to 18 characters.  Required.
