The Location Code is the key field that identifies the location information. A Location Code must be created for each specific physical location or facility where services are rendered by the providers within your practice. You can use Location Codes to set up financial areas within your practice.
Tips:
When creating Location Codes, NDS recommends using a naming convention that is meaningful to your practice.
When you create a location you will assign a predefined Place of Treatment (actually a Place of Service ID) to that location. Place of Service IDs are maintained in Place of Service Maintenance. For an example of how to associate Place of Service IDs with Location Codes, see Place of Service Maintenance.
The billing Location Code is a different field from the Scheduling Location Code, although for convenience NDS recommends assigning the same code to both. You can link the codes together during Scheduling Location Maintenance.
