Scheduling Location Maintenance

Use Scheduling Location Maintenance to maintain information about all offices, hospital locations, or other places of treatment where your providers may provide services.  

Tip:  For more information about working with data in fields, see Data Entry Guidelines.

Note:  Locations created in this Maintenance are only used during Scheduling and are a separate field and have a separate function from Location Codes used in Charge Entry and Billing.  While they are separate fields, you may find it handy to assign the same code to both scheduling Locations Codes and billing Locations Codes.  For example, if you assign Location 1 as your main office during Location Maintenance, also assign Location 1 as your main office in Scheduling Location Maintenance.

• Opening Scheduling Location Maintenance, click More.

   

  • Click File Maintenance from the Menu Bar, and next click Scheduling Maintenance; then click Location.

  • Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [m] [c] [l].

   

• Creating a new Scheduling Location, click More.

   

  To create a new record choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the new Location Code and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the new Location Code and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Scheduling Location, New  displays near the Location Code.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

  Scheduling Location Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Location Code	Enter the unique code to be assigned to this Scheduling Location. (up to 2 characters) Required.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Scheduling Locations, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing Scheduling Location, enter the Location Code and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Location Name	Enter the full name of the location.  (up to 40 characters)
  Alt. Search	Enter the alternate or abbreviated name of the location to be used when searching. (up to 8 characters)
  Number of Rooms	Leave blank.  This field is reserved for future use.
  PE Location ID	Enter the predefined Location Code assigned to this location that is used for billing purposes. (up to 2 characters) Notes: The PE Location ID is informational only. To search for a Location Code, click Search or press [CTRL + f]. To create a new Location Code, click Fast Maintenance or press [CTRL + o].

   

• Editing an existing Location, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Scheduling Location Code and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Location Code, you can click Search  to see a list of Scheduling Locations.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.

• Deleting an existing Location, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Scheduling Location Code and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Location Code, you can click Search  to see a list of scheduling locations.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
