Special Condition Maintenance

Use Special Condition Maintenance to maintain codes and information about special conditions such as a special health condition customers can have.  You can assign the Special Condition to a location or a service connection to alert you that a special condition exists and requires 24/7 service delivery.  For example, you can create a special condition for Iron Lung and assign it to a specific location to alert your facility that the power must be delivered 24/7 to this location.

• Opening Special Condition Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Daily Work from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Code Maintenance.

  4.  Click Miscellaneous Maintenance.

  5.  Click Special Condition.
  
  Tip:  Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [y] [m] [c] [i] [s].

   

  Special Condition Maintenance Window Example:

  

• Creating a new Special Condition, click More.

   

  To create a new record choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the new Special Condition ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the new Special Condition ID and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Special Condition, New  displays near the Special Condition ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

  Special Condition Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Special Condition ID	Enter the unique identifier for the special condition. (up to 10 characters) Required
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing special conditions, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing special condition, enter the Special Condition ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Title	Enter the abbreviated Title for the special condition. (up to 15 characters)
  Description	Enter the full Description for the special condition. (up to 40 characters)
  Service Code	To assign the Service Code for the special condition, click a choice in the drop-down list.
  Graphic	To assign a graphic to display when the special condition is used, click a choice in the drop-down list.
  Color	To assign a color to display with the special condition, click a choice in the drop-down list. Tip:  To assign a custom color, click Search .
  Item Color	Displays the color assigned to the special condition.

   

• Editing an existing Special Condition, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Special Condition ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Special Condition ID, you can click Search  to see a list of special conditions.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an existing Special Condition, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Special Condition ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Special Condition ID, you can click Search  to see a list of special conditions.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
