Weather Data Maintenance

Use Weather Data Maintenance to maintain data about the weather conditions for a specific date in a geographic area of your utility district.  You can maintain high/low temperatures, humidity, and heating degree days, which are often weather items that can affect utility consumption.

• Opening Weather Data Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Daily Work from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Code Maintenance.

  4.  Click Weather Tracking Maintenance.

  5.  Click Weather Data Maintenance.

• Creating a New Weather Data Record, click More.

   

  Weather Data Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Geographic	To create a new Weather Data Record, enter a defined Geographic Area ID and the weather date and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t] Tips: Or, enter a defined Geographic Area ID and the weather date and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n] To indicate that you are building a new Weather Data, New  displays near the Geographic Area and Date.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Weather Data Records, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing Weather Data Record, enter the Geographic Area ID and a Date and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Weather	Enter a defined Weather Condition ID to describe the weather data. (up to 5 characters)
  Description	Enter the full description associated with the Weather Data. (up to 20 characters)
  Daily High Temperature	Enter the high temperature for the date. (3.4 numeric)
  Daily Low Temperature	Enter the low temperature for the date. (3.4 numeric)
  Relative Humidity	Enter the relative humidity for the date. (3.4 numeric)
  Wind Speed	Enter the wind speed for the date. (3.4 numeric)
  Hours Above 65 Degrees	Enter the hours per day that the temperature was above 65 degrees for the date. (hh:mm)
  Hours Below 65 Degrees	Enter the hours per day that the temperature was below 65 degrees.  (hh:mm)
  Cumulative Heating Degree	Enter the cumulative heating degrees for the date. (6.0 numeric)
  Cumulative Cooling Degree	Enter the cumulative cooling degrees for the date. (6.0 numeric)

   

• Editing an Existing Weather Data Record, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Geographic Area ID and Weather Date click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Geographic Area ID and Weather Date, you can click Search  to see a list of Weather Data Records.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an Existing Weather Data Record, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Geographic Area ID and Weather Date and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Geographic Area ID and Weather Date, you can click Search  to see a list of Weather Data Records.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.

  Note:  After you click Proceed, you will see the following message on the Status Bar.
