Backflow Testing Workfile Maintenance

Use Backflow Testing Workfile Maintenance to update the backflow testing records with  the Backflow test date, the test results, and the code for the technician who performs the test.  In addition, after you have created the Backflow testing workfile you can use this maintenance to print a list of the Backflow devices that are due to be tested and you can remove a device if it should not be tested due to extenuating circumstances.

• Opening Backflow Testing Workfile Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Processes from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click Backflow Testing.

  3.  Click Workfile Maintenance.

• Printing a list of Backflow Devices to be tested, click More.

   

  1.  To print a list of Backflow devices to be tested, click Search .

  2.  Click File menu.

  3.  Click Print.

  4.  To begin printing to the Windows® default printer, click Print , or press [ENTER].

   

• Creating a New Backflow Testing record, click More.

   

  To create a new record choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the new Backflow ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the new Backflow ID and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Backflow Test record, New  displays near the Back Flow ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

  Backflow Testing Workfile Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Back Flow ID	Enter the identification for the Backflow device. (up to 17 characters)
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Backflow test records, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing Backflow test record, enter the Back Flow ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Technician	Enter the code for the technician who performs the Backflow test.  (up to 7 characters)
  Tester Number	Enter the informational tester number, if applicable. (up to 10 characters)
  Test Status	To assign the test status, click a choice in the drop-down list.
  Test Date	Enter the date the Backflow test is performed. (mmddccyy, slashes and century optional)
  Reference	Enter a reference for the Backflow test, if applicable. (up to 60 characters)

   

• Maintaining the Backflow Test Date, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the backflow device to enter the test date for, enter the Backflow ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].

  Tip:  If you do not know the Backflow ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Back Flow Testing records.

  2.  Enter the Technician Code for the technician who performed the test.

  3.  Enter the Tester Number, if applicable.

  4.  Click to select the Test Status.

  5.  Enter the Test Date and a reference.

  6.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Editing a Backflow Testing record, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Backflow ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Backflow ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Backflow Testing records.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting a Backflow Testing record, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Backflow ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Backflow ID, you can click Search  to see a list of backflow test history records.

  2.  Click Remove Text Backflow xxx at the bottom of the window.

  3.  The following prompt displays.

   

  

   

  4.  Click Yes to delete the record, or click No to escape without deleting the record.
