iKnowSys

Use iKnowSys NDS’ XML-based reporting tool that is built into the Edifice software, to generate queries and reports on your utility billing data.  iKnowSys is easy to use!  Simply click the iKnowSys button on your Edifice toolbar to launch it and then choose the desired report or query displayed in the catalog.  You can run multiple queries simultaneously and compare results on the screen.  In addition, you have the option of printing a hard-copy of your query or report results.

iKnowSys comes with several defined reports including reports for the Back flow testing process and customer additional addresses.  NDS is continually adding new reports to iKnowSys.  However, if you can’t find a report with the information that you are looking for, our experienced support staff can quickly create a custom report that fits your unique needs.  If you have a Professional Services agreement, you can budget time for designing the report.

• Opening iKnowSys, click More.

   

  Choose one of the following methods to launch iKnowSys:

  1.  Click iKnowSys  on the Toolbar.

  2.  Or, click View from the Menu Bar, and then click iKnowSys.

  3.  Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [CRL + i].

   

  iKnowSys Window Example:

  Tip:  To see detailed instructions for each section or field name in the examples below, the cursor becomes a hand when you position the cursor over the field or section.  Click once to display the associated topic.

  

   

• Running an iKnowSys Query or Report, click More.

  To run a query or report do the following:

  1.  Click to highlight the appropriate Query/Report Name listed in the Catalog Panel.

  2.  Click Add Query View to open the query.

  3.  Enter the query parameters, if applicable.
  Note:  Each query has its individualized parameters that you can maintain to limit the data included.

  4.  Click Refresh Query View to start the query processing in the Report/Query Output Area.

   

• Printing an iKnowSys Query or Report, click More.

   

  To print a hard-copy of the iKnowSys report or query:

  1.  Right-click within the Report/Query Output Area to open your Internet Browser Shortcut menu.

  2.  Click Print to open Windows® Printer Settings Window.

  3.  Select the appropriate printer settings.

  4.  Click Print .

   

• Creating a new iKnowSys Query or Report, click More.

   

  Important:  Please contact NDS Technical Support for directions to build new queries or reports.

   

• Closing an iKnowSys Query or Report, click More.

   

  To close an active query or report, simply click Remove Query View .

  Note:  For speed of processing, it is best to close unwanted reports.
