Field Description - Period Description

The Period Description is text that describes the Period Number.  Typically, the description contains the month name.  However, 13-period facilities may use another designation.  Period 14 is the "Closing" period.  The General Ledger provides default descriptions, which you can maintain.

Tips:  If your Fiscal Year does not coincide with the Calendar Year, then the Period Number does not match the month, therefore the Description should be different from the default.  For example, if your Fiscal Year runs from June 2006 to May 2007, then the Period 1 Description is June, not January.
