View Plate Status

Use View Plate Status to change the status of a registration license plate number or a permit.  Generally, you will not need to use this function very often as most plate or permit inventory is updated during the various registration/miscellaneous transactions wizards.  However, if you find that a plate status did not update properly as it should have during a transaction, then you can manually update the status or adjust the plate or permit inventory during this routine.  For example, if the system did not return a plate/permit to inventory after a transaction was canceled or did not mark a plate/permit as used when a transaction was complete, then you can make the adjustment here.

• Opening View Plate Status, click More.

   

  1.  Click File Maintenance from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click View Plate Status.

• Viewing an Existing Plate Status, click More.

   

  View Plate Status Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Plates Booster MVR10 Transits	To indicate the type of inventory being viewed, click the appropriate radio button: Plates Boosters MVR10 Transits
  Plate Type or Class	Enter the appropriate plate type or class.  Entries are based on what you selected above: If you selected Plates, then you will enter the Class associated with the license plate status to edit. If you selected Booster, then BSTR displays as the Plate Type. If you selected MVR10, then SP displays as the Plate Type. If you selected Transits, then TP displays as the Plate Type.
  Plate Number	Enter the plate or permit number to view.
  	To recall the plate number or permit, click Retrieve.
  	After clicking retrieve, the following information displays for your review: Current Status - of the license plate or permit number Date issued
  Status	To update the licence plate or permit number with a different status, click the appropriate button: Issued - The license plate or permit number is currently issued or assigned to a registration Returned - The license plate or permit number is returned to the BMV as it is damaged or defective Available - The license plate or permit number is available for issue and is currently in the inventory
  	To close the window when you are finished with editing a plate's status: Click Close.   Or, click  Close in the upper right corner of window.

   

• Creating a New Plate Status, click More.

   

  Note:  View Plate Status is only available for viewing a plate status.  To create a new Plate or permit for inventory, use Receive Plates Maintenance.

   

• Deleting an Existing Plate Status, click More.
