Adjust Plates Maintenance

Use Adjust Plates Maintenance to deduct or remove from your inventory plate numbers of motor vehicle license plates, as well as, permit numbers for booster permits, special registration permits and transit plates.  Generally, you will remove plate or permit numbers from your inventory if the plates/permits are being returned to the BMV or if the inventory was damaged and can not be used for a type of registration or other transaction.

• Opening Adjust Plates Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click File Maintenance from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click Adjust Plates.

   

  Adjust Plates Maintenance Window Example:

  

   

• Adjusting/Removing Plate Inventory, click More.

   

  To adjust plate or permit inventory, enter:

   

  Adjust Plates Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Plates Booster MVR10 Transits	To indicate the type of inventory being removed or adjusted, click the appropriate radio button: Plates Boosters MVR10 Transits
  Plate Type or Class	Entries are based on what you selected above: If you selected Plates, then you will enter the Class associated with the plates you are removing from inventory. If you selected Booster, then BSTR displays as the Plate Type. If you selected MVR10, then SP displays as the Plate Type. If you selected Transits, then TP displays as the Plate Type.
  Start Plate	If entering a range of plates/permits, enter the beginning plate/permit number here. If entering a single plate/permit, enter the plate/permit number as the Start Plate.
  End Plate	If entering a range of plates/permits, enter the ending plate/permit number.   If entering a single plate/permit, enter the plate/permit number here.
  Explanation	Enter an optional explanation to accompany the inventory being removed, if applicable. Tip:  The Explanation displays on the Inventory Adjustment Report.
  	To generate a list of the license plate/permit numbers to be removed from inventory, click Generate List. Note:  Each individual plate/permit number within the entered range will display in the column labeled Plate Number.
  Plates in Range	Displays the total count of license plates/permits being removed from inventory based on the values you entered for the Start Plate and the End Plate fields.
  	If the plate/permit numbers listed and the total count of plates/permits in the range are correct, click Adjust to remove the plates/permits from inventory.
  	After clicking Adjust, the following confirmation window displays:
  	To finalize removing the plates/permits from inventory, click OK.  Or, to stop the process, click Cancel.
  Plates Adjusted	The total count of plates/permits removed from inventory displays for your reference.
  Plate Range(s)	After clicking OK, the plates/permits are removed from inventory and the range values display for your reference in the right pane labeled Plate Range.
  	To clear the entry fields in preparation for entering another set of plates, click Clear Fields. Tip:  It is recommended that you click Clear Fields if you are entering a range of plates for a different class.
  	To close the window when you are finished with removing plate inventory: Click Close.   Or, click  Close in the upper right corner of window.

   

• Editing an Existing Plate Inventory, click More.

   

  Important:  You can only remove plate numbers or permits during this routine.  To edit or change a plate/permit number, first remove it during this routine and then add the correct number during Receive Plates Maintenance.
