Plate Inventory Analysis

Use Plate Inventory Analysis to make adjustments to the plate or permit inventory Beginning On Hand amounts.  In general, you will use this feature for inventory adjustments that have special circumstances that can not be handled through any other Motor Vehicle Registration routine.

Notes:

• If you make adjustments using this routine, you will need to reprint the report that pertains to the type of adjustment you made.

• Generally, you will use this routine to make plate inventory adjustments if necessary after you have run the Plate Inventory Cycle.  For more information about the timing and sequence of cycle end tasks, see Cycle Processing Procedure.

• Opening Plate Inventory Analysis, click More.

   

  1.  Click Period End Work from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click Plate Inventory Analysis.

• Adjusting/Editing an Existing Plate Inventory On Hand Amounts, click More.

   

  To manually adjust plate or permit inventory on hand amounts, enter:

   

  Plate Inventory Analysis Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Plates Booster MVR10 Transits	To indicate the type of inventory for the on hand amount is being adjusted, click the appropriate radio button: Plates Boosters MVR10 Transits
  Inventory Display	The following fields display for the inventory: Type is based on what you selected for the type of inventory above: If you selected Plates, then the plate Classes display. If you selected Booster, then BSTR displays as the Plate Type. If you selected MVR10, then SP displays as the Plate Type. If you selected Transits, then TP displays as the Plate Type. The other fields in each line of inventory display:   Begin On Hand - the number of inventory items at the beginning of the cycle Received - the number of inventory items received during the cycle Issued - the number of inventory items issued during the cycle Adjusted - the number of items removed inventory during the cycle End On Hand - number of inventory items on hand at the end of the cycle.   Calculation:  Begin OH + Received - Issued - Adjusted = Ending On Hand amount
  Highlight the line to Edit	Click to highlight the line that needs the Beginning On Hand amount adjusted.  The Beginning On Hand amount displays in the Edit box at the lower left of the window.
  Edit Beginning On Hand	To edit the Beginning On Hand amount, backspace over the value and enter the new amount.
  	To finalize the edit of the Beginning On Hand amount and to recalculate the Ending On Hand amount, click Change. Tip:  The Ending On Hand amount re-displays with the updated value.
  	Note:  The Existing button is reserved for future use.
  	To close the window when you are finished with adjusting the plate or permit inventory on hand amounts: Click Close.   Or, click  Close in the upper right corner of window.

   

• Creating a New Plate Inventory On Hand Amounts, click More.

   

  Note:  Plate Inventory Analysis is only available for adjusting existing plate or permit inventory beginning on hand amounts.  To create a new plate number or permit for inventory, use Receive Plates Maintenance.
