Load Images From File

Loading an image from a file copies an existing image from a folder on your computer or network and links it to the record displayed in the current program window.  The newly copied image is stored in the images folder for the software module.

To load an image from a file into a record:

  1. Retrieve an existing record or to create a new record.

  2. Display the area of the window that contains an image.  For example, in some programs you can click a tab labeled Picture.

  3. Click Images from the Menu Bar.

  4. Click Load Images from File.

  5. Follow the normal Windows® open procedure.  For additional information, click More.

     

    • Navigate to the appropriate location.
      Tip
      :  The Thumbnails view in Windows is handy for visually identifying an image.

    • Click the file name (or thumbnail) of the image desired.

    • Click the Open button and you will see the Load Images prompt.

  6. Enter one of the options available at the prompt window.  For additional information, click More.

    Closes the prompt window and cancels loading the image.

    Replaces an existing image in a record or adds the image to a record containing no images.

    Tips:

    • The program uses the record ID and a sequence number to create the file name for the copied image.

    • If you replace an existing image, the old image is overwritten.  However, the original version of the image (opened in Step 5) remains intact.

    Adds the image to a list of one or more existing images for a record.

    Tip:  If you create a sequence of two or more images, you can display each of them using the Next Image and Previous Image buttons at the program window.
