Bank Number Table Maintenance (BANKnn)

Use Bank Number Table Maintenance to maintain information for each bank used for direct deposit of employees' net pay or special deductions.  The table contains the bank number, the bank name and the American Banking Association (ABA) number.

Tip:  The bank numbers appear in the drop-down list for the Bank Number field, when you maintain employee direct deposit information during Employee Maintenance - Direct Deposit Information Area.

• Opening Bank Number Table Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Payroll from the Menu.

  2.  Click Miscellaneous File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Table FM.

  4.  Click Alpha Tables.

  5.  Click Bank Number (BANKnn).

• Creating a new Bank table, click More.

   

  Bank Number Table File Maintenance Prompts
  Bank Selection	Each a number to represent a Bank and then press [Enter] or click .  Each table identifies a unique bank used for direct deposits. Or, to find a Bank table, click Search .  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Tips: Do not enter zero (00).  00 is a special Bank Number that indicates no direct deposit for the employee. If you are building a new Bank table, New  displays near the bank number.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  Description	Enter the full name of the bank or financial institution.  For example you can include the bank name and the branch.  (up to 79 characters)
  Short Description	Enter an abbreviation for the bank.  (up to 14 characters)
  Bank ABA Number	Enter the bank's routing or American Banking Association (ABA) Number.  The bank provides this information.  (up to 12 characters)

   

• Editing an existing Bank table, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  Enter the Bank number and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].

  Tip:  If you do not know the Bank Selection, you can click Search  to see a list of banks.

  2.  Using the mouse click the field to change and enter the data changes.

  3.  To complete the edits, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an existing Bank table, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  Deleting a table that is still used by other programs may cause errors.

  1.  Enter the Bank number and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Bank Selection, you can click Search  to see a list of banks.

  2.  Click File from the Menu, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
