Demand Table Maintenance

Use Demand Table Maintenance to maintain Demand Tables containing information that is used to calculate demand usage for customers having demand type meters.  Generally, a demand meter records the highest spike of usage for a specified service period.  

Notes:  

• Demand Tables are assigned to the appropriate Transaction Codes during Transaction Code Maintenance.

• Demand charges are calculated by looking at a specified demand service period or a Usage Period, which is the number of months Edifice looks back in the customer's history to find the highest demand or usage.  Edifice then takes the highest historical usage reading and multiplies it by the Demand Usage Percent.  The calculated amount is then compared to the customer's current demand usage.  Whichever usage figure is highest is used to calculate the customer's billing transaction.

• To create billing transactions for a customer having a demand type meter, use a Transaction Code having a Demand Table ID and Special Handling set to demand.

• Opening Demand Table Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Daily Work from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Code Maintenance.

  4.  Click Miscellaneous Maintenance.

  5.  Click Demand Table Maintenance.

• Creating a new Demand Table, click More.

   

  To create a new table choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the new Demand ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the new Demand ID and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Demand Table, New  displays near the Demand ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

  Demand Table Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Demand ID	Enter the unique identification to be assigned to this demand table. (5.0 numeric)
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Demand Tables, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing Demand Table, enter the Demand ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Title	Enter the Demand table title. (up to 20 characters)
  Description	Enter this demand table description. (up to 30 characters)
  Usage Periods	Enter the number of billing or service periods to go back in history to look for the highest recorded usage.  (3.0 numeric) Note:  History records are only considered if they fall within the specified usage period and they contain the same Transaction Code, same Company Number, same Reference Type and same Reference ID as the billing transaction being entered or imported.
  Percent	Enter the percentage of the highest historical usage reading to use. (3.0 numeric)

   

• Editing an existing Demand Table, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1. To display the table to be changed, enter the Demand ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
     
     Tip:  If you do not know the Demand ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Demand Tables.

  2. To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3. Enter the data changes.

  4. To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]

   

• Deleting an existing Demand Table, click More.

   

  1. To display the table to be deleted, enter the Demand ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
     Tip:  If you do not know the Demand ID, you can click Search  to see a list of Demand Tables.

  2. Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3. At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
