Transaction Code Maintenance - Extended GL Accounts Maintenance

Use Transaction Code Maintenance - Extended GL Accounts Maintenance to maintain up to five sets (a set consists of a debit & corresponding credit GL Account Number) of G/L accounts to be used when posting entries for this Transaction Code to the general ledger journal file, if applicable.  You can also maintain the debit and credit G/L accounts for tax during this maintenance as well.

• Opening Transaction Code Maintenance - Extended GL Accounts Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Daily Work from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Code Maintenance.

  4.  Click Transaction Code Maintenance.

  5.  Enter a valid Transaction Code ID.

  6.  Click Additional from the Transaction Code Maintenance Menu Bar.

  7.  Click Extended GL Accounts.

• Creating a New Service Analysis Settings record, click More.

   

  Tip:  A new record is automatically created when a Transaction Code is created.

  Tax
  G/L Debit Account	Enter the G/L Account Number to debit sales taxes.  This account number is used during Post Cash Receipts to create entries in the general ledger journal for sales taxes collected for the transaction code. (up to 20 characters)
  G/L Credit Account	Enter the G/L Account Number to credit sales taxes.  This account number is used during Post Cash Receipts to create credit entries in the general ledger journal for sales taxes collected for the transaction code. (up to 20 characters)
  GL Account 1 - 5 Note:  You can maintain up to 5 sets of GL accounts to create debit and credit GL journal entries for the transaction Code to the GL journal file.  While there are 5 sets of GL accounts available only use as many as you need.
  G/L Debit Account	Enter the first general ledger debit account to be used when posting entries for this Transaction Code to the general ledger journal file, if applicable. (up to 20 characters)
  G/L Credit Account	Enter the first general ledger credit account to be used when posting entries for this Transaction Code to the general ledger journal file, if applicable. (up to 20 characters)
  	To update the new or changed information, click Close to close the Extended GL Accounts Maintenance window.  Then at the Transaction Code Maintenance window, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

   

• Editing an Existing Service Analysis Settings record click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  The record to be changed, displays automatically.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an Existing Service Analysis Settings record, click More.

   

  Note:  The Delete Command is not available during this maintenance.
