Service Groups Maintenance

Use Service Groups Maintenance to identify and assign the services for a service group.  Service groups allow services to be grouped together to streamline and simplify certain processes.  For example, if a customer uses three services, during the Customer Create Wizard you can assign the Service Group (for those services) to the customer and maintain the service information once.

• Opening Service Groups Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Daily Work from the Menu.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Service Maintenance.

  4.  Click Groups.

• Creating a Service Group, click More.

  Service Groups Maintenance Prompts
  Service Group ID	Enter the unique identifier for the service group and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].  (up to 5 characters) Or, to look for an existing service group,  click Search . Tip:  If you are building a new service group, New  displays near the Service Group ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information. Required
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  Title	Enter the abbreviated title for the Service Group. (up to 15 characters)
  Description	Enter the full description of the Service Group. (up to 40 characters)
  Label	Enter the text to display for the Service Group field label during Edifice windows. (up to 12 characters)
  Short Label	Enter the abbreviated text to display for the Service Group field label during Edifice windows. (up to 3 characters)
  Color	To assign a color to the Service Group label button, click a choice in the drop-down list. Tip:  To search for a color choice, click Search.  From the Search choices, click to select the desired color box.
  Service Group Color	Displays the color assigned to the Service Group for your reference.
  Services List	To assign the services for the Service Group, select the desired services in the Service List. To remove a service from the Service Group, de-select the service in the Service List.

   

• Editing a Service Group, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  Enter the Service Group ID to change and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].

  Tip:  If you do not know the Service Group ID, you can click Search  to see a list of service groups.

  2.  Click the field to change and enter the new information.

  3.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]

   

• Deleting a Service Group, click More.

   

  1.  Enter the Service Group ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Service Group ID, you can click Search  to see a list of service groups.

  2.  Click File from the Menu, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
