Billing Parameter Table Maintenance

Use Billing Parameter Table Maintenance to maintain the information that controls certain functions within billing and the printing of statements.  This table allows you to set up Edifice to fit your billing needs.

Tips:  

• The Billing Parameter Table is sometimes referred to as the WBPARAM record.

• Opening Billing Parameter Table, click More.

   

  1. Click Daily Work from the Menu Bar

  2. Click File Maintenance

  3. Click Table Maintenance

  4. Click Billing Tables

  5. Click Billing Parameter Table

• Creating a new Billing Parameter Table, click More.

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Billing Parameter Table, New  displays near the WBPARAM name.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

  Billing Parameter Table Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	The Search function is not available during Billing Parameter Table Maintenance.
  	To display the existing Billing Parameter Table, click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Company Name	Enter the company name. (up to 30 characters)
  Service Code	To select a service or all services, click a choice in the drop-down list.
  Journal Bytes	Enter the number of bytes assigned to the amount field for the GL Journal entries. Tip:  Usually either 4 or 5.
  Winter Quarter Method	If customer billing rates are adjusted for summer-time outdoor seasonal use, select the appropriate choice from the pull-down list. Entry Choices: None - No Winter Quarter Method 1 - Auburn 2 - Lisbon 3 - Berlin Note:  There is a fourth winter quarter billing option that uses Winter Quarter Maintenance settings to determine billing rates.  This method does not require the Billing Parameter Winter Quarter Method to be set.  For more information, see Winter Quarter Maintenance.
  Bill Format
  Form Type	This field controls how your bill will print.  To select a form type, click a choice in the down-arrow list.
  Alternate Form Type	The option allows you to print an alternative bill.  An example of using this option would be to print a bill to a local printer after it has been printed by a laser printing service.  To select an alternate form type, click a choice in the down-arrow list.
  Date Format	Click to select either the Due Date or the Rate Change Date.
  Number of Billing Messages Lines	Enter the number of message lines to print on your bill (1-3).
  Bill Offset	This field allows for different types of printers and is used in addition to the Form Type field to print your bill.  Enter the number of spaces/characters the system needs to adjust for when printing bills on printers that can't be manually adjusted.
  Navy Bills	This is a flag to control special military rates.  In addition to setting this flag, navy bills use a special transaction code or book and a special bill format.   Enter Y to turn this option on.   Enter N to by-pass.
  Lien Processing Type	Enter 0 to indicate the regular lien processing type.
  Past Due/Shutoff Form Type	Click on the appropriate choice from the drop-down list.
  Site Code	This field is used to activate or control certain specified functions in the Edifice software such as lien processing.  This code should already be set.
  Company Type	This field controls certain displays to reflect the type of utility service being provided by the company.  Enter the company type code by clicking on the appropriate choice from the drop-down list.

   

• Editing an existing Billing Parameter Table, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  2.  Enter the data changes.

  3.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an existing Billing Parameter Table, click More.

   

  Note:  The Delete Command is not available for Billing Parameter Table Maintenance.
