History Inquiry - Customer History Detail Panel

Use the Customer History Detail Panel to view a customer's historical transaction details.  You can choose from three different types of history inquiry views.  You can view the customer's history by transaction, by their billing summary or by transaction detail summary, which includes charge and associated payment details.  The table following the window example describes the Customer History Detail Panel for the History Inquiry.

Tips:  

• You can also view the customer's Billing Summary History during the Billing Summary Panel of the Customer Inquiry.

Directions:

To see directions for...

• Displaying a customer's history, click More.

   

  1. Click History on the Toolbar.

  2. Enter a valid Customer ID.
     Tip:  If you do not know the Customer ID, you can click Search  to see a list of customers.
      

  3. Select the appropriate Service Code.

  4. Enter a range of Transaction Dates, if applicable.

  5. Click Get Account , or press [ENTER].
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  6. To determine the type of history detail to view, select one of the following History Detail Options:

     • Transaction

     • Billing Summary

     • Transaction Detail Summary

  History Inquiry - History Detail Transaction Field Descriptions Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  History Detail Type	Choose one of the following History Detail Types: Transaction - View the customer history Transaction detail. Tip:  This is the default view option. Keyboard shortcut:  [Alt + 1] Billing Summary - View the customer's Billing Summary History Detail.  This information is located in the Bill History Detail file and represents the summary for the billing periods. Keyboard shortcut:  [Alt + 2] Transaction Detail Summary - View the customer's billing and payment details associated with each transaction summary line. Keyboard shortcut:  [Alt + 3]
  	To change the font size of the Inquiry display, click Change Font. Tip:  The font size changes from small to medium to large and back to small, with each successive click of the button.
  Transaction Details
  SC	Service Code for the history transaction
  Date	The Date of the customer's history transaction
  Code	The Transaction Code used to generate the history transaction
  Rate Code/Descript	The Rate Code and Description for the transaction code
  Reading	The Reading amount for the history transaction
  Usage/Inv	The amount of Usage for the history transaction
  Amount	The billing or cash receipts amount for the history transaction
  Balance	A running total of the customer's history transaction amounts
  Reference	The history transaction payment Reference, if applicable
  Prior Read	The date of the customer's Prior Reading
  Present Read	The date of the customer's Present Reading
  Type	The Reference Type identifying the customer's type of service connection
  Code	The customer's Service Connection Code Tips: If the Reference Type is L, a Location ID displays. If the Reference Type is M, a Meter ID displays. If the Reference Type is T, a Trailer ID displays. If the Reference Type is C, a Component ID displays. If the Reference Type is S, a system-based charge displays.
  Due Date	The Due Date that printed on the associated statement
  Sub Total	Notes: This field is currently reserved for future use. This field only displays if you select View Sub-Total on the History Inquiry Shortcut menu.

  Transaction Details
  SC	Service Code for the customer's billing history
  Date	The customer's billing history transaction Date
  Usage	The customer's amount of Usage for the billing period
  Charge	The customer's Charge amount for the billing period
  Avg Usage Daily	The customer's average daily amount of usage for the billing period
  Avg Charge Daily	The customer's average daily charge amount for the billing period
  Prev OS Balance	The customer's Previous Outstanding Balance
  Number of Days	The Number of Days in the billing period
  Bill Date	The date the customer was billed

  Tips:  

  • The Transaction Detail lines are color coded so you can distinguish between charges and payments.

  • To quickly view additional transaction details, click Plus .

  Transaction Detail Lines
  	To see additional transaction details, click Plus.  Or, to hide the additional transaction details, click Minus. Tip:  To see field descriptions for the additional details, see below.
  SC	Service Code for the history transaction
  Date	The history transaction Date
  Code	The Transaction Code used to generate the history transaction
  Rate Code/Descript	The Rate Code and Description for the transaction code
  Reading	The Reading amount for the history transaction

  Check Number	The Check Number of the customer's payment, if applicable Tip:  This field only displays for payment transactions.
  Amount	The charge or payment amount
  Balance	A running total of the customer's history transaction amounts
  Prior R Date	The Prior Reading Date for the billing transaction Tip:  This field only displays for billing transactions.
  Present R Date	The Present Reading Date for the billing transaction Tip:  This field only displays for billing transactions.
  Reference	The payment reference, if applicable Tip:  This field only displays for payment transactions.
  Reference Code	The customer's Service Connection Reference Code Tips: This field only displays for billing transactions. If the Reference Type is L, a Location ID displays.
