Liens Workfile Maintenance

Use Liens Workfile Maintenance to delete individual customers from the Lien Workfile that was generated during the Prepare Notice Workfile routine.  For example, you can use this routine to remove a customer from the Lien Workfile if the customer has contacted you about making a payment on their overdue balance.

Notes:  

• You can not add or edit a lien for a customer during Liens Workfile Maintenance.

• If you delete customer liens during Liens Workfile Maintenance, reprint the Liens Print Transaction Journal for a complete audit trail.

• Opening Liens Workfile Maintenance, click More.

   

  • Click the following sequence:  Processes from the Menu Bar, Liens, and Workfile Maintenance.

  • Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [p] [l] [m].
     

  Liens Workfile Maintenance Window Example:

  

• Creating a new customer lien, click More.

   

  IMPORTANT: You can not create a new lien for a customer during Lien Workfile Maintenance.

   

• Editing an existing customer lien, click More.

   

  IMPORTANT:  You can not edit a customer lien during Lien Workfile Maintenance.

   

• Deleting an existing customer lien, click More.

  1. To display the record to be deleted, enter the Customer ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
     Tip:  If you do not know the Customer ID, you can click Search  to see a list of customers.

  2. Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3. At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
