Equipment Maintenance
Use Equipment Maintenance to maintain information for miscellaneous service management equipment other than meters, trailers or components. You can assign defined generic models of equipment to specific customers or specific locations, if desired. The equipment fields are informational only and can be used for reporting purposes.

1. Click Service Mgt from the Menu.
2. Click File Maintenance.
3. Click Equipment
Maintenance.

Enter the Model Number defined during Equipment Model Maintenance and the new Equipment Serial Number and then, click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].. (up to 15 characters) Tips:

Enter the Serial Number of the piece of service management equipment. (up to 15 characters) |

To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut: [ALT + s] |

CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records. |

To view all of the existing Equipment records, click Search. From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut: [ALT + r] |

To display an existing Equipment record, enter the Equipment Model Number and the Serial Number and, then click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut: [ALT + t] |

To specify if the equipment is the larger unit or a part of a larger unit, click a choice in the drop-down list. Entry Options:

Enter the defined Model Number of the parent assembly. (up to 15 characters) |
|
Enter the Serial Number of the parent assembly (host) that contains the component. (up to 15 characters) |
|
Enter the defined Location ID where the equipment is installed, if applicable or, press [ENTER] to skip to Customer ID. (up to 12 characters) |

Enter the defined Customer ID for the customer who is responsible for the equipment, if applicable or press [ENTER] to by-pass. (up to 12 characters) |

Enter the specific location where the equipment is located at the facility. (up to 20 characters) |
|
Enter the manufacturer's name for the equipment. (up to 12 characters) |
|
Enter the Class for the Equipment Model, if applicable. (up to 3 characters) |
|
Enter the number of pieces for this model of equipment. (7.2 numeric) Tip: Generally, if you are using a serial number the quantity should always be one. |

Enter any miscellaneous information pertaining to the equipment as the Equipment memo, if applicable. (up to 10 characters) |

Enter the date the equipment was installed for the customer. (mm/dd/ccyy, slashes and century are optional) |

Enter the Technician Code for the technician who installed the equipment. (up to 3 characters) Tips:

Enter the Date the equipment warranty starts. (mm/dd/ccyy, slashes and century are optional) |
|
Enter the Date the equipment warranty ends. (mm/dd/ccyy, slashes and century are optional) |

Enter the Contract or warranty number for the equipment. (up to 7 characters) |

Misc Information |
|
Flex Fld 1 - 6 |
Enter the miscellaneous information for the Flexible Field one through six. (up to 10 characters per line) Note: Because you can define the field labels for the Flexible Fields during Equipment Model Maintenance, the labels in your software may not match the documentation. |
Editing an Existing Equipment Record, click More.
CAUTION: To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
1. To display the record
to be changed, enter the defined Equipment Model Number and the Equipment Serial Number and click Retrieve

[ENTER].

Tip: If you do not know the Equipment Model Number
and the Equipment Serial Number, you can click Search to see a list of Equipment
records.
2. To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.
3. Enter the data changes.
4. To complete the edit
process, click Save , or
press [ENTER].

Deleting an Existing Equipment Record, click More.
1. To display the record
to be deleted, enter the defined Equipment
Model Number and the Equipment
Serial Number and click Retrieve

[ENTER].

Tip: If you do not know the defined Equipment Model
Number and the Equipment Serial Number, you can click Search to see a list of Equipment
records.
2. Click File
from the Menu Bar,
and next click Delete.

3. At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
