Equipment Model Maintenance

Use Equipment Model Maintenance to maintain model numbers and associated information for the types of equipment your place of business installs or services.  You can maintain various information for the model including a description, manufacturer name, and other user-definable information.  In addition, you can identify the equipment model as a standalone host unit or as a sub-component of a larger assembly.

• Opening Equipment Model Maintenance, click More.

   

  1.  Click Service Mgt from the Menu Bar.

  2.  Click File Maintenance.

  3.  Click Equipment Model.

• Creating a New Equipment Model, click More.

   

  Equipment Model Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Model Number	Enter the unique code that identifies the equipment Model Number and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER]. (up to 15 characters) Required Tips: Or, enter the new Model Number and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n] To indicate that you are building a new Equipment Model, New  displays near the Model Number.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Equipment Models, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing Equipment Model, enter the Model Number and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Description	Enter the Description of the equipment model. (up to 25 characters)
  Host/SubComponent	Specify if the model is a Host unit or a Subcomponent of larger piece of equipment. To specify this is a host model, click Host. To specify this is a subcomponent, click Subcomponent.
  Manufacturer	Enter the name of the manufacturer for this model of equipment. (up to 12 characters)
  Class	Enter the equipment classification that you can use to categorize the equipment model numbers, if applicable. (up to 3 characters)
  Maintenance Rate	Enter the standard base rate amount for servicing this model of equipment. (7.2 numeric)
  Warranty Days	Enter the number of days in the warranty for this equipment model. (4.0 numeric)
  Preventive Maint Freq.	Enter the ideal number of scheduled service calls per year for preventive maintenance for this model of equipment. (3.0 numeric)
  Installed Base	Enter the number of equipment pieces currently installed for this equipment model. (6.0 numeric)
  Number Under Contract	Enter the number of equipment pieces that are currently under contract. (6.0 numeric)
  Flexible Field 1 - 6	Enter the user-defined field labels for up to six informational fields to display during Equipment Maintenance when the equipment model is entered. (up to 10 characters per line)

   

• Editing an Existing Equipment Model, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Model Number and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Model Number, you can click Search  to see a list of Equipment Models.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting an Existing Equipment Model, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Model Number and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER].
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Model Number, you can click Search  to see a list of Equipment Models.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
