CASS Certification Process

EDIFICE CASS Certification routines can be used to certify EDIFICE mailing addresses and improve your mailing rates.  If you are not using a print and mail service for printing your bills and certifying your addresses, then CASS Certification can be a helpful process.  USPS CASS Certification is generally valid for 6 months, so utility companies can plan on certifying mailing addresses biannually.

Note:  There is setup required to use this process.  For assistance, please contact NDS Support at support@ndsys.com or call 1-800-649-7754 for assistance.

CASS Certification Process

1.  Run the CASS Certification Export to create an export file containing EDIFICE mailing addresses.  Note:  For printer, select NDS File printer.  This will generate the export file as a text file.

2.  Notify NDS that your CASS Export File is ready for processing.

3.  When certification is complete, NDS will place the CASS certified return import file in the folder on your system specified by the Import Control.

4.  In addition, NDS will send your organization a copy of the CASS Certification Summary report.  You will need to submit this report to your local USPS distribution center.

5.  Run the CASS Certification Import to create an import workfile of the current and new mailing addresses.

5.  Run the CASS Certification Import Journal to generate a list of current addresses and the new addresses.  Review the list.

6.  Run the CASS Certification Correction Import Post to update EDIFICE with the CASS certified mailing address changes.
