System Parameters

Use System Parameters to change the colors of the module windows, how the search is built, whether or not to ask for a printer with each print job and to program function keys.

IMPORTANT:

If you make changes to System Parameters you should back up the settings.  To see more information about backing up System Parameters click here.

Note:  Some Tabs may not be available in certain modules.

Styles Tab

Use this tab to change the palette of window colors for this module at this PC.  The window color schemes are maintained in Style Sheets.  Window colors are applied to each module individually and are maintained individually for each PC.

Note:  To see the color change, close and re-open any active windows.

Styles Tab Prompts

To change the colors of the module's windows, click the Styles tab.

Style Sheet

To choose a color scheme click a choice from the drop-down list.

To apply this color scheme and close the window, click OK.
Keyboard Shortcut:  
[ALT + o]

To exit without changing color schemes, click Cancel.
Keyboard Shortcut:  
[ALT + c]

To apply the changes made to Styles, click Apply.
Keyboard Shortcut:  [ALT + a]

 

Search Tab

Use the Search Tab to change the Search Build Type to enhance the performance of your search.  Changing the Search Build Type can speed up the search build process.

Caution:  Changes to this parameter should only be made with the help of NDS Technical Support.

Search Tab Prompts

To open the Search Tab, click Search.

Search Build Type

To change the build type, click a choice from the drop-down list.

Note:  NDS Technical Support will direct you on choosing the build type.

To save changes and close this window, click OK.
Keyboard Shortcut:  
[ALT + o]

To exit without changing the search build, click Cancel.
Keyboard Shortcut:  
[ALT + c]

To apply the changes to the search build, click Apply.
Keyboard Shortcut:  [ALT + a]

 

Print Tab

Use the Print Tab to control the printer selection when calling any print job within the module.  For more information about printing and setting up your printer, click Printing Options and Printer Setup.

Note:  Any printer number, other than the Print View printer number, overrides the Windows™ printer prompt when you click the Print button.

Printer Tab Prompts

To open the Print Tab, click Print.

Print Type

Click the appropriate button:

  • Use Windows™ default printer - assigns the Windows™default printer for each print job.

  • Always stop and ask for printer - allows a choice of printers each time you select a print job.

To save changes and close the window, click OK.

To exit without changing the print type, click Cancel.

[ALT + c]

To apply the changes made to print type, click Apply.
Keyboard Shortcut:  [ALT + a]

 

Function Keys

Use this feature to program the function keys [F1] through [F12] to quickly perform commands according to your personal needs.  In addition to [F1] through [F12] you can combine a function key with [CTRL] or [SHIFT] allowing you to program up to 36 function keys.  Function Keys are different than keyboard shortcuts.  A Function Key can be assigned to perform many operations or commands in addition to menu selections.  Function keys are assigned at the PC level.
