Field Description - Direct Deposit Transmission Date
The Direct Deposit Transmission Date contains the date you plan to transmit the direct deposit file to the bank.
Tips:
The Transmission Date must be a predetermined number of lead days before the Direct Deposit Effective Date, so the bank has enough lead time to process the transactions. The DD-Days Table controls the number of lead days required (usually two).
Normally, the Transmission Date falls after the Period End Date and before the Check Date, which is usually the same day as the Direct Deposit Effective Date. Although the Transmission Date is before the Check Date, the bank posts the actual direct deposit transactions into the employees' accounts on the same day (or close to) the Check Date. For more information about the dates and sequence of events, refer to the Payroll Runbook.
You are prompted for the Transmission Date during Permanent Pay Transfer or the first time you enter payroll checks during the pay period. However, you can also maintain the date during Edit Direct Deposit Control.
Do not confuse the Transmission Date with the actual Direct Deposit Transmitted Date. The Transmission Date is the date you plan to transmit the direct deposit files, whereas the Transmitted Date is the actual date of the transmission.
For more information, refer to the topic, Advanced Feature - Setting Up Direct Deposit.
Format: Date (MM/DD/CCYY). Slashes are optional.
