Charge Entry - Patient Diagnoses Area

Use the Patient Diagnoses Area in the Work Window to quickly view and maintain patient diagnoses.  The table following the window example describes the Patient Diagnoses Area in the Charge Entry Work Window.

Directions:

To display the Patient Diagnoses Area in the Work Window, click OK at the Charge Entry - Batch Entry Window.

Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for that field name.

Diagnosis 1

Displays the patient's first diagnosis.  You can accept the default or enter another valid Diagnosis Code.

Tip:  To search for a Diagnosis Code, click Search .
Keyboard shortcut
:  [CTRL + f].

Notes:

  • Diagnosis 1 can contain the most recent diagnosis entered during Charge Entry or it can contain the patient's assigned diagnoses maintained during Patient Entry.  In the second case, Diagnosis 1 is reserved for chronic conditions, diagnoses 2 and 3 are rotating diagnoses.

  • INSight's .NPARAM record controls how the Patient Diagnosis 1, 2, & 3 fields are used.

Diagnosis 2

Displays the patient's second diagnosis.  You can accept the default or enter another valid Diagnosis Code.
