Scheduling Provider Status Maintenance

Use Scheduling Provider Status Maintenance to maintain general descriptions of provider functions and work-related activities other than patient appointments.  For example, you can maintain a Provider Status for surgery, meetings, and hospital rounds.  You can assign a status to a provider for a specific date during Scheduling Provider Date Maintenance to describe what the provider is doing.  The assigned Provider Status displays during Scheduling in the provider's column heading to alert you as to the location and activities of the provider for that day.

• Opening Scheduling Provider Status Maintenance, click More.

   

  • Or, click File Maintenance from the Menu Bar, and next click Scheduling Maintenance; then click Provider Status.

  • Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [M] [C] [ARROW DOWN].

   

• Creating a new Provider Status, click More.

  To create a new record choose one of these methods:

  • Enter the new Status ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]

  • Or, enter the new Status ID and click File from the Menu Bar; next click New.
    Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [n]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Provider Status, New  displays near the Status ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

  Provider Status Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Status ID	Enter a Status ID to assign to the provider function.  (up to 20 characters) Required
  	To update the new or changed information, click Save or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.
  	To view all of the existing Provider Statuses, click Search.  From the Search list you can select the record to change or delete. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  	To display an existing Provider Statuses, enter the Status ID and click Retrieve, or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Description	Enter a brief description of the provider status or provider function.  (up to 100 characters)
  Icon	To select an icon to represent the Status ID, click a choice in the drop-down list. Tips: To display the drop-down list, click in the Icon field.   The selected icon displays for your reference.

   

• Editing an existing Provider Status, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save new or changed records.

  1.  To display the record to be changed, enter the Status ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  
  Tip:  If you do not know the Status ID, you can click Search  to see a list of provider statuses.

  2.  To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3.  Enter the data changes.

  4.  To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.

• Deleting an existing Provider Status, click More.

   

  1.  To display the record to be deleted, enter the Status ID and click Retrieve , or press [ENTER] if the button is in focus.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + t]
  Tip:  If you do not know the Status ID, you can click Search  to see a list of provider statuses.

  2.  Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
  Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3.  At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
