Run Code - Volume Table Maintenance (RC/VOL)

Use Run Code - Volume Table Maintenance to indicate which Run Codes can be processed in the current company, within a multi-company environment.  For example, in a municipality, the town office (Company A) may use one set of payroll files while the schools (Company B) use a separate set of payroll files.  Then the files are merged during the payroll run.  This table limits which Run Codes are available for Check Entry to each separate company.

• Opening Run Code - Volume Table Maintenance, click More.

   

  1. Click Payroll from the Menu Bar.

  2. Click Miscellaneous File Maintenance.

  3. Click Table FM.

  4. Click Numeric Tables.

  5. Click Run Code - Volume Table (RC/VOL).
     
     Tip:  Or, use the keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [p] [m] [n] [r].

• Creating a new Run Code - Volume Table, click More.

   

  Important:  Only one RC/VOL table record is required.  You only need to create a new table if it does not yet exist.

  To create a new RC/VOL table record:

  1. Open Run Code Table Maintenance.

  2. If there is no table, you will see New  near the Table ID, which is always the same - RC/VOL.

  3. To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  4. Enter the data changes.

  5. To create the table record, click Save , or press [ENTER].
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]

  Tip:  To indicate that you are building a new Run Code - Volume Table, New  displays near the Table ID.  Default entries display and the first field is highlighted to let you know you can begin entering information.

   

  Run Code - Volume Table Maintenance Prompts Tip:  To see more information about a field, click the hyperlink for the field name.
  Table ID	The program sets the Table ID to RC/VOL. Tip:  This maintenance is for a single table containing a single record.
  	To update the changed information, click Save or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + s]
  	CAUTION To avoid losing data, you must save changed records.
  	Search is not active for this program.
  	Retrieve is not required in this program.
  Title	Enter the Table Title, which is an abbreviated name for the table.  (up to 14 characters)
  Description	Enter the Table Description, which is the full name of the table.  (up to 79 characters)
  	To create a new blank line in the Run Code List, click New. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + n]
  	To add a Run Code to the list: Make sure there is a blank line at the end of the list.  Click New, if necessary. Enter the Run Code you want to add. Click Add or press [ENTER]. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + a]
  	To remove a Run Code from the list: Click to highlight the Run Code that you want to remove from the list. Click Remove. Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT + r]
  Run Code	Enter the Run Code that you want to add to the list.  (1.0 numeric)
  Run Code List	The Run Code List displays the Run Codes available to this company within a multi-company environment. # - The line number of the list. RC - Run Code Description - Run Code Description Tip:  For the Description to display in the Run Code List, the Run Code should already exist in Run Code Description Table Maintenance.

   

• Editing the Run Code - Volume Table, click More.

   

  CAUTION:  To avoid losing data, you must save the new or changed record.

  1. To display the record to be changed, simply open Run Code - Volume Table Maintenance.

  2. To position the pointer to the information that you want to change, press [TAB] or click the field using the mouse.

  3. Enter the data changes.

  4. To complete the edit process, click Save , or press [ENTER].

• Deleting the Run Code - Volume Table, click More.

   

  Note:  Do not confuse deleting the entire table record with removing a Run Code from the table.  To remove a Run Code, see the instructions for Remove in the Creating a new Run Code - Volume Table section.  To delete the entire table record, following the steps below.

  1. To display the record to be deleted, simply open Run Code - Volume Table Maintenance.

  2. Click File from the Menu Bar, and next click Delete.
     Keyboard shortcut:  [ALT] [f] [d]

  3. At the Delete Records prompt, click Proceed to delete the record, or click Cancel to escape from the delete routine.
